ARCHERY TOURNAMENT

The Rawson Field will be the site of the annual Archery Tournament.  The tournament will be held Friday, July 25 for boys and girls in the following age brackets: 12 and under; 13-16; and an open division.  The tournament will begin at 1:15pm however, 13-16 and the open division may report at 2:30pm.

Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, while Ribbons will be awarded for 4th, 5th, and 6th place.

The event is sponsored by the South Milwaukee Recreation Department.  Don't miss out on all the fun - see your playground director for more information.

You may register at 12:45 PM the day of the tourney.  There will be a $2.00 resident per player, and $3.00 non-resident per player participant entry fee – this fee is payable prior to participation at the tournament site.  For additional information, call us at 766-5081.

3-D DESIGN CAMP

This class is focused on crafts and designed to familiarize children 6-14 years with a variety of different mediums used in creating art – ranging from pencils, paints, clay fabric, plaster, paper mache and much more.  A smock or old shirt is suggested. 

 

3-D DESIGN CAMP will be held on Mon-Thu, August 4-7, 1:15 –2:30PM in the Senior High School Art Room #2355.  When attending class, enter the building through door #34.

COED KICBALL TOURNAMENT

ARTFUL ARTIST CAMP

Children 6-14 years can explore the world of art in this fun and colorful camp.  Camp is designed with summer FUN in mind.  Children will be creating summer projects with construction paper, glue, markers, crayons, paints, and more.

CHEERLEADING AND POM PON CAMP

Experience the basic skills and etiquette of cheerleading and discover new and exciting routines set to music with the aid of pompon.    The participants also learn the newest jump, yells and cheers.  Camp will be held Monday - Thursday, July 28-31 in the Senior High Fieldhouse on the North Court. Class is scheduled for beginners from 6-12 years of age from 9:15 to 10:30am.

As a service to residents and friends of the South Milwaukee Recreation Department, and in cooperation with the Wisconsin Park and Recreation Association, a special discounted theme park ticket purchase arrangement is available to you for various attractions throughout the state.

 

SIX FLAGS GREAT AMERICA & HURRICANE HABOR

Children 3 & under-FREE; One Day Pass Gate:  $56.64-You Pay: $36.00; You Save: $20.64.

 

NOAH’S ARK 

Children 2 and under-FREE-Gate:  $32.99; You Pay:  $26.50; You Save:  $6.49.

COED FALL SPORTS - FLAG FOOTBALL-VOLLEYBALL-KICKBALL

Those students K5-8TH grade  interested in playing kickball, flag football and or volleyball may obtain a parental permission blank at the South Milwaukee Recreation Department, Room #1100, 901 15 Avenue, South Milwaukee, WI 53172.  Walk-in registration is possible, Monday - Friday, 8:00 -12:00 noon and 1:00-4:00 P.M.   We are located on the east side of the new Senior High School.  You may park your car in the east lot and enter the building through door #24.  The Rec. Office is located just inside of door #24 and the building is labeled COMMUNITY RECREATION & FITNESS CENTER.

Parents must turn in a parental permission slip at the Recreation Office accompanied the registration fee.  The registration fee is $30 for residents and $40 for non-residents.  Registration is now being accepted by mail (include name, address, age where applicable, telephone, class choice, and proper fee) or in person on a first-come, first-served basis at the Recreation Department.  Don’t wait until school starts, as there may not be room on the teams that will be organized.  This early deadline is necessary in order to secure the needed volunteer coaches and to allow team’s sufficient time to prepare before the first game.

Adult volunteer coaches are needed.

YOUTH TACKLE FOOTBALL

The South Milwaukee Recreation Department is accepting registration from current 5th, 6th, and 7th graders who will be going into 6th, 7th and 8th grade who are interested in playing tackle football in the fall of 2008.

The registration fee is $195.00. Registration forms may be obtained from the Recreation Department in Room 1001 in the Senior High.  Please park in the east lot and enter through door 24.
